The Cooking School
The Cooking School is about preparing meals together and an opportunity for a neighborhood get-together. From June to September, we invite people from the artistic world to share their culinary fascinations. At our kitchen island in front of the theater headquarters, Rabih Mroué, Daniel Kotowski, Michał Kmiecik, among others, have cooked together with the public. The program is curated by Junona Lamcha-Grynberg. In 2024 the series’ partner was Ludwik Majlert’s Farm, which provided non-industrially grown vegetables.
Central Sports Field
On our initiative, as part of the 2023 civic budget, a sports activity space was renovated and retrofitted in the vicinity of the theater’s headquarters. “Boisko Warszawa-Centralna” is an open and free space for practicing various sports (soccer field, basketball, table tennis table, mini gym) with toilets and lighting. The administrator of the facility is OSiR Polna.
Cooperation with the Downtown district
Komuna Warszawa Theater cooperates with the Downtown District by hosting picnics for seniors, exhibitions, performances and concerts prepared jointly with the Downtown District Board.
Summer cinema
Thanks to the cooperation with the Downtown District, Komuna Warszawa Theater invites visitors to free Summer Cinema screenings. We present thematic series, student shorts and the best documentaries (in cooperation with Docs Against Gravity).
Pomological Garden
An important part of local activity is restoring the memory of the Pomological Garden, in whose historic area the Theater is located. In the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the Garden was a place for growing new varieties of fruit, but also the fruit pantry of Warsaw.
In reference to this tradition, Komuna Warszawa Theater is planting new plants and co-creating a local neighborhood mini-garden.
