The titular KLUSKA (NOODLE in Polish) is a bulldog, constantly hungry, spending her joyful puppyhood in the home of a childless couple of creative corporate workers. Mrs. STARA looks for a life that, in her opinion, is always somewhere else, and her much older partner STARY is very shy. Over time, KLUSKA causes them more and more trouble. Loneliness drives her towards Bogapsa (GodDog). This tragicomic and minimalist musical for three actors is based on a true biography. With just a touch of fantasy.
As announced, the authors have managed to create a completely new theatrical genre – the holy-hop-dog musical, which is nowhere to be found not only in Poland, but also on the world’s musical stages. In a word, they are ahead of London’s West End, and they are doing very well with it!

Bios

Agnieszka Smoczyńska is a film director, and Święta Kluska (Holy Kluska) is her theater debut. She received an award for her second film, “Fuga”, at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, but she has already attracted the attention of the film world with her debut, “The Lure”. The director’s next film, “Silent Twins”, premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival and won the Golden Lions at the Gdynia Film Festival. She is the winner of the Global Filmmaking Award sponsored by the Sundance Institute.

Robert Bolesto is a playwright and screenwriter, collaborating with TR Warszawa and Teatr Powszechny, among others. His screenplays for “The Lure” and “Ostatnia Rodzina” (The Last Family) have been successfully adapted for the screen.

The music is the result of a collaboration between Zuzanna Wrońska and Marcin Macuk. The pair had already worked together on the soundtrack for Smoczyńska’s “The Lure.” Wrońska is involved in the Ballady i Romanse project on a daily basis, while Macuk is known for his work across a wide range of genres – he produces (including albums for the NOSOWSKA project), composes (including music for Marcin Wrona’s films), and plays (in the bands HEY and Pogodno).
