Proszek is a literary-musical-performative event. The lineup of Proszek features artists working at the intersection of performing arts, painting, film, theater, music and, above all, literature, creating a unique stage mix that often takes the form of a concert with surprising interjections from different arts. A favorite concept performed in various ways is that of tender irony. This is the notion Proszek wants to talk about and this is the notion Proszek feels most comfortable with. Proszek’s music is a combination of vintage psychedelia, eclectic krautrock and the musical poetics of the late 1960s. Guitar chords and dry, repetitive rhythms intertwine to create a trance-like cushion for Oskar Dawicki’s brutally accurate words.
Powder is a means of expression* of non-obvious provenance, metaphysically indifferent. Powder serves no purpose, much less anyone.
The Powder can be used at will, but sensitivity, intelligence and a basic knowledge of the Polish language are recommended for the Powder to work better.
Powder is pure, completely devoid of hope, and does not have an ounce of humility. It is addictive!
Proszek performs as follows: Oskar Dawicki – lyrics, voice, psych guitar Hubert Zemler – guitar, keyboards Piotr Adamski – bass guitar Mikołaj Małek – drums
Bégayer
Bégayer is made up of five multi-instrumentalists from southeastern France. Their music is an instrumental-electronic mix of sounds from distant time-spaces. They combine French songs, noise, human and non-human noises and disturbances, echoes of ethnic and ancient music. They use handmade instruments, old radio transistors and various recycled electronic devices.
Britain’s The Wire writes of their latest album, “Évohé Bègue”: “follows an open-ended, heavily improvised composition where they meet: Morton Feldman, Nigerian ogene bands, New York post-punk no-wave, Northern Italian folk – rubbishy and cheeky – the ritualistic wails of Javanese monks, contemporary poetry and improvised music…”.
The band performs in the lineup: Loup Uberto – voice, lutes, begena, bagpipes Lucas Ravinale – voice, begena, tamburelli, sound objects Alexis Vinéïs – drums, percussion (sati, qraqeb, gardon) Jean-Philippe Curtelin –drums, percussion (surdo, sati, qraqeb, gardon) Loïc Verdillon – 16mm films, sound
