Radio Kapitał in the Garden

Every Friday and Saturday we invite You to the Garden for DJ sets

Tickets: free entry

Together with Radio Kapitał, we invite you to an evening that will inaugurate a series of DJ performances in the green space of the Garden café in front of our theatre.
Events will take place regularly every Friday and Saturday from the beginning of June until the end of September.

abw – DJ and co-founder of the feminist-queer initiative Girls & Queers to the Front, where she has been working as a promoter, curator and producer of events at the intersection of music, art and literature since 2015. Zinester and publisher, occasionally also an illustrator. By day a yoga teacher. – will play this Friday.
In her sets, abw likes to combine nostalgic, ethereal atmospheres with expressive rhythms and fast, flowing energy. Although her genre inspirations are constantly changing and intertwining, adventure and fun of playing are most important to her in the selection.

Radio Kapitał is a community radio station. Admittedly, we broadcast in a virtual space, but from the beginning we wanted a place where people involved in the radio community and beyond could meet up and have a relaxed chat and listen to music carefully selected by those associated with the radio.
Looking for a place to chillout after work? Or wondering where to start your evening before a night out? Or maybe you want to listen to music in a pleasant natural setting? In the very centre of Warsaw, but away from the hustle and bustle of the city, a place has been created that can answer these various needs.

About Radio Kapitał

A community, online radio station that broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is a modern platform for social and artistic dialogue, presenting original programmes about culture, society, history, literature, art and music in a wide variety of genres. Radio Kapitał is also a response to the need to create an independent and non-commercial space for expression, for grassroots activity – not for profit, but for personal satisfaction and social benefit. It is also an innovative cultural project on a nationwide scale, which, building on the rich tradition of radio broadcasting, at the same time sets new horizons for the medium of radio.

The Radio is co-created by a variety of cultural, music and activist communities, grassroots initiatives, clubs, club cafés, publishing houses and others, but also by individuals – radio enthusiasts, sound engineers, journalists and critics, DJs, artists, academics and students. More than three hundred people contribute to the framework of the radio.

An important context for the creation of Radio Kapitał is the tradition of European radio stations, so-called “community radio”, i.e. radio stations created by the community. They are a platform of expression for local initiatives, a bottom-up, independent and non-hierarchical platform, and they animate the activity of creative communities. The best-known radio stations of this type that inspired the creation of Radio Kapitał are NTS Radio in London, Noods Radio in Bristol, Lyl Radio in Lyon, Cashmere Radio in Berlin, Quantica Radio in Lisbon, Ida Radio in Tallinn, Punctum Radio in Prague, Red Light Radio in Amsterdam or Lahmacun Radio in Budapest. The Radio Kapitał Association decided to respond to the need for such a radio station in Warsaw – the first not only in the capital, but also in the whole of Poland.
